Image and Print Information FAQs
How do I get them to you?
The easiest way for you and us, is to use a file sharing site like Dropbox.
Simply upload your correctly labelled and cropped image, and copy the image link. After you hit ‘add’ to your cart you will be prompted to paste the link to the image. For Print Packs please create a folder for all 24 prints and share that folder link.

What type of image file should I send?
We find that high quality JPEGs are perfect. When saved at a high quality setting, the associated JPEG compression is pretty similar to TIFFs and a lot quicker to upload.
We recommend using a Photoshop compression level of 10 (11 & 12 offer little benefit but do dramatically increase file size) and a quality setting of between 93 and 100 when exporting from Lightroom. Edit images in RAW, TIFF or PSD format and only exported as JPEG when ready to submit for printing
What size?
Big is beautiful. Images should ideally be sized at the required print dimensions (e.g. 16x24) at 300ppi (pixels per inch). There’s a great calculator here to help ascertain the correct amount of resolution required for your sized print Resolution Calculator . The more info you give us the better the print - simple as that.
Crop or not to crop?
It’s best to ensure you have pre-cropped/sized your image to your desired print size, for example, 5x7”. However, you can send your images uncropped/sized and we will work our magic to crop the image to suit both the image and print. Please note however, we may ask you to rethink the size you are printing if cropping doesn’t suit and cuts things/people out of the image!
Colour Space?
Images should be saved as 16 -bit Tiffs or 8-bit JPEGs and use either sRGB, Adobe RGB.
Can I add a border to the print?
Adding a white border to your prints is a great way of complimenting the photo itself. The contrast of the border and the image really makes the photo stand out. You can add a border to your print after adding to the cart. Borders .25 inch for prints up to 12 x 18 and .5 inch for larger print sizes. Please note that borders reduce the image size not the print (paper) size. i.e. a bordered 8 x 8 print will have a 7.75 x 7.75 image.
Image finish
Please note margins (white areas surrounding the image) are always added to all borderless prints larger than A3, this is intentional for handling and framing purposes. As we use rolls of paper rather than cut sheets, smaller prints may retain a memory curl.
Print handling
When handling prints try and touch the paper as little as possible, avoid touching the image area entirely. Cotton Art Rag prints in particular can require careful handling. Scuffing can be an issue, especially with dark images. Any matte material can scratch and scuff easily. If you need to handle your print, use both hands and hold it by opposite corners (very gently) to avoid creasing.
